The situation is ironic, she explained, because it is "actually easier to buy an apartment holding than a single-family home." She added that the down payment is negligible, the profits bigger and less risky.

Commercial real estate is purchased for the huge cash flows generated for the investor. Bought correctly, these buildings cash flow from day one and provide a steady flow of income year after year. It's less risky because investors profit from the cash flows regardless of market conditions and can actually create property appreciation in a down market like we're currently experiencing. Other investors choose to improve properties to be able to increase cash flow and consequently the property's value. It's truly incredible."
